Sitting up!

I love this bumbo chair. It rocks! He is also diggin' his snuggly too. I love watching him cuddle it! Sitting in the bumbo, Harrison can hang with me while I get some stuff done...and he looks like such a big boy sitting there!!! I can't hardly stand it!

More pictures

More pictures...it won't let me load them all on one post! Read the post below for all the fun details...

One very important detail I forgot...the baptismal gown Harrison wore is the Harrison family gown. How awesome is that? It is a beautiful antique from Gwyn's family. We were so glad we baptized Harrison when we did too-apparently babies were a lot smaller back in those days and it almost didn't fit him!!!

Baptism...finally!

On November 30, Harrison Henry Grubbs was baptized! I know you have been waiting a while for these pictures, so here they are. Beth Idol, the wife of Jason's dear friend Kenny (and we are friends with her too!), presented Harrison to the congregation as we all sang, "An infant we present to thee, as thy redeemed property..." It makes me cry just thinking of it! Then, Jason held little Harrison as Pastor Don baptized him. He did let out a little squeek when the water was first placed on his head. Then, Pastor Don took Harrison and showed him off to the congregation as the children sang, "Little brother welcome" (Little brother, welcome. We the church of Jesus, we will help your growing. Little brother welcome!) In case you can't tell, I'm a sucker for baptisms. I love them. The Moravian church has a beautiful baptismal service, and I ALWAYS cry at them. :) Afterwards, we enjoyed a luncheon with our family and a few other special folks. The menu consisted of chicken pie that Gwyn and I made while I was 7 months pregnant, green beans and salad. Then, we had the tasty cake from Costco. YUM!!! It was a lot of fun and a very special day.

We're rollin'

Tonight, we were at Jason's grandmother's house doing our usual Christmas Eve get together. We put Harrison down on the floor on a blanket for some tummy time and guess what! HE ROLLED OVER! Jason and I both looked at each other, and asked each other if the other saw the same thing. We did! Aunt Ava, Mamaw, Papaw, Jason and myself were the lucky ones to witness this first. How exciting...but that means little Harrison is now mobile, so watch out world!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

After watching what I say while we were in school, I am happy to now say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! This is a funny song from Brad Paisley and a bunch of other old school country singers. You MUST listen. It's a stitch.

So we didn't plan on that one...

When you have a baby, you certainly can not plan exactly what will happen next. Last night was no exception! I was sitting here at this desk, checking my email and holding little Harrison. I had my arm around his waist, and he was leaning against my chest. Then, all of a sudden, WHAM! He did one of his herky-jerky movements and slammed his head against the edge of the desk. Boy, the screaming that came after that! Jason was in the garage, and heard him and came running inside. Long story short, we called the pediatrician and they recommended we go to the ER. Our first and hopefully LAST trip! He was looked over pretty throughly by two doctors (one of whom was my RA at Wake, Kevin Taylor-small world!). THey both said he would be fine, and Dr. Walker didn't think he needed to see him for a follow-up today. I think Harrison thought it was just a fun trip in the middle of the night where lots of new people got to play with him. Me, on the other hand, just recently stopped the water works. Poor ole' Mom was (and still is) DEFINITELY more torn up over it than the patient!!!

Just a little busy

Well, it only took SIX days for us to get the tree decorated, and we just finished! YEAH! So, to say the least, I haven't had time to update you on what has been going on. Not too much, which is good...just getting into the bottle-washing and other baby-related routines that we have every night now that I am back at work. I think we have averaged eating dinner at 8pm, a habit we MUST break since I am usually so hungry that I can't talk while I eat (not good). But Harrison is happy, teething (I know, can you believe it??), and just plain cute!!
