Kara and I had so much fun making Harrison's birthday cakes! The big cake was a copy of the cupcake that appeared on the plates for his party. Then, I made matching cupcakes to put all around it to be sure we had plenty of cake for everyone. It was so yummy. It almost looked as good as it tasted!

Here is the display at the party. You can see the inspiration cupcakes on the napkins and hats (which, by the way, were actually worn--I was very impressed by that!).

What would a first birthday party be without a smash cake? We made a small sheet cake and then used a bowl to cut out two matching circles. We put them together to make a layered smash cake!! I have definitely been watching too much Cake Girls....

If you know me, I think that anything that sits still should be monogrammed. The smash cake was no exception! It was just what I hoped it would be. Thanks to Kara for her help, and to Chris and Jason for helping occupy Harrison while we worked. I could not have done it without you all!
