Sitting Up On His Own

Harrison has been sitting up on his own for quite some time. But just recently, he learned how to pull himself up to a sitting position from lying down. He has wanted to do this for some time, but his tummy muscles just weren't strong enough. But now that he has learned how to do it, it has had some negative side effects that I didn't anticipate. For instance, when we put him down to go to sleep, he used to just roll around and fuss for a while, then go to sleep. But now, he sits up to fuss. This exponentially decreases that chance that he will successfully cry himself to sleep because he can do things like reach up for us or try to claw his way out of his crib. That brings us to the next bad effect. He has learned to pull him on his crib. I came in his room on Friday night, and my sweet darling had the top half of his body dangling over the side of his crib. AH!! After saying, "don't you jump out of that crib" one too many times (once was one too many times for me!), I put the pack and play up in his room until Jason gets a chance to get the wrenches out to lower his mattress. So, Harrison is definitely keeping us on our toes as he learns new 'tricks'!

Thank goodness you caught him before he jumped over!
