Saturn!

After the fiasco on Tuesday, I was very hesitant to try car shopping solo again. But I gave myself a pep talk and prepared mentally to be rude if they were rude to me, and off I went to the Saturn dealership. I love the Saturns! I was actually able to drive both cars I wanted to look at, in less than an hour (yeah!), and the man really treated me the way I think car buyers should be treated. I really liked the Vue, the smaller SUV. But I really REALLY liked the Outlook, the larger 7 passenger vechile. It was very nice. But the Vue drove much better than the Honda CRV, which was impressive considering they are almost the same size (the Vue seems slightly larger based on observation alone). So now it is between Saturn and Honda.

I have enjoyed all the comments I have gotten via email and posts to the blog about the rude Volvo man. Thanks, you guys have made me feel better!!! I did like the car, but I have a mental block for Volvo right now. The dealership that I went to was in Winston, and I have yet to look and see if there is another close by in High Point or Greensboro.

The Saturn Vue is a great car, however I would say that the Honda has it beat on reliability. Have you checked out the VW Tiguan? It's in the same class as the two you're looking at and has a lot of other refinements not found on the Vue or CRV. I'm actually working with VW to spread the word on the car, so if you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. shawn@m80im.com

I'm still partial to the...um...Pilot! Ha Ha! I thought you would get a kick out of that. Oh wait...you get a kick out of everything its called BG! Cute blog...don't forget to write down what the baby does, when it moves, etc. I printed it out and put it in Brayden's baby book at the beginning. Have fun blogging!

Jayne,

It sounds like you are leaning towards an SUV. Just a word of advice from a new mother--go for the minivan. You will never have enough space for everything you THINK you will need to carry with you!
